Francais | English « Diaspo Science & Tech » webcast - The voice of the Scientific Diaspora
The Diaspo Science & Tech programme was created in March 2020 and is produced by VKII-Web TV, currently being launched by the Association of Cameroonian Engineers and Computer Scientists in Germany and Billy-Prod TV, a production company and VKII partner. It aims to be the voice of the scientific African diaspora, the platform par excellence for experts from the continent's diaspora in the fields of science, research, (new) technology(s) or engineering and entrepreneurship.
The programme also aims to be a means of popularizing science throughout Africa in general and Cameroon in particular. For this Africa, the cradle of science, heir to the Egyptian Pharaonic civilizations, the great West African empires (and their great universities, such as Timbuktu) and the Moorish empires of Spain in the Middle Ages, has the duty in this 21st century to put science back at the centre of its society, so that it can regain its lost prosperity. The Diaspo Science & Tech program, therefore, wants to be one of these instruments that will not only enable the continent to achieve this goal, but also that will bring Africa in general and Cameroon in particular to be reconciled with its Diaspora. With a main presenter (or moderator), the program plans to receive each time two guests, two experts, who will speak on current issues, analysing the scientific and technical contours. It therefore includes interviews, but also reports and commercials. In the long term, the programme is planned to take place weekly, but given the situation related to the Coronavirus crisis, we are exceptionally planning two issues per week until the beginning of May 2020. You can find excerpts and recordings of the show on the Facebook pages of VKII (https://www.facebook.com/VKIIev) and Billy-Prod TV (https://www.facebook.com/Billy-Prod-386914704767358), but also/especially our YouTube channels VKII: https://www.youtube.com/user/communicationvkii to which we invite you to subscribe massively.
